Comau features its exoskeleton in Pack Expo robotics showcase

Comau, an industrial automation company and part of the Fiat Chrysler Group, is presenting its Muscular Aiding Tech Exoskeleton (Mate) in the all new Robotic Zone (booth N-850G) at Pack Expo Las Vegas.

Visitors to Comau’s interactive booth will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the benefit of incorporating exoskeletons into material handling processes by wearing a Mate in a typical pick and place operation.

Mate has been designed to improve work quality in an efficient and highly ergonomic manner by providing consistent and advanced movement assistance during prolonged overhead, as well as daily tasks.

Mate is fully able to replicate any movement of the shoulder while adhering to the body like a “second skin”.

Developed in conjunction with Iuvo and Össur, Mate is the first available product of a series of wearable technologies being commercialized by Comau.

Cayla Zielinski, Comau’s wearable robotics specialist, will give a brief presentation highlighting the importance of providing employees the ergonomic resources to improve work quality and efficiency, while reducing the risk of injury.

This presentation will cover the benefits of incorporating exoskeletons into material handling processes, and will take place at the Robotic Zone stage all three days of the show.

Pack Expo, co-located with the Healthcare Packaging Expo, focuses on packaging and process innovation in an array of industries.

The addition of the Robotic Zone this year in the North Hall brings together the latest robotic technologies, human and robotic interaction and collaborative robot displays, creating “the perfect home for Mate” at the show.

An interactive experience, Robotic Zone brings together a number of applications from the companies exhibiting in the area to pack food for the charitable organization, Blessings in a Backpack.
