Metal working event EMO to put spotlight on robots

One of the best-known and most well-attended metal working exhibitions in Germany, EMO, is planning to put the spotlight on robots.

In a showcase entitled Robotics for Agile and Competitive Manufacturing, EMO will highlight how new “robotic technologies can be used to improve the agility, productivity and competitiveness of manufacturing companies”, say the organisers.

The conference is organised by Trinity, a European Commission-funded project focusing on robotics, IoT and cybersecurity.

The aim of the project is to help small and medium-sized enterprises to benefit from new robotics and digital technologies to improve their competitiveness and agility in manufacturing.

The Trinity event will also present “open calls”, which will offer financial and technical support for SMEs and mid-caps willing to implement new robotics solutions in industrial environments.

The conference will also include a session on cybersecurity where it will be discussed how to take the right measures to protect a 21st-century enterprise from the most obvious risks resulting from cybersecurity.

The challenge is not only to prevent criminals from entering, but also being capable of dealing with the situation and the challenges caused as a result of it: incident management and recovery.
