CeMAT established as Russia’s leading intralogistics trade fair, says organiser

CeMAT has established itself as Russia’s leading intralogistics trade fair, according to organiser Deutsche Messe.

CeMAT Russia is on a course for continued growth. Featuring more than 150 exhibitors, this year’s edition will be staged in two halls at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center in Moscow, with the first-time inclusion of the open-air site.

Leading exhibitors include companies like Beumer, Honeywell, Interroll, Haulotte, Kardex, Komatsu, Linde, Manitou, SAP, SSI Schaeffer, TVH and Vanderlande.

Sergey Dzyuba, sales director at OOO Beumer, says: “The Russian market is highly attractive. We are witnessing how Russia’s logistics industry continues to dynamically develop – boosted by the nation’s booming online commerce.

“Russia’s eCommerce market is displaying an annual growth rate of some 20 percent, according to the Data Insight analysis agency.

“Retail groups are also constantly accelerating the development of their online distribution channels and investing in large-scale logistics centers.

“The Russian market, however, is very demanding because it is subject to constant fluctuations. As systems supplier for intralogistics solutions, we need to be able to adapt to these specific market conditions.

“We are achieving this through our sortation and distribution solutions. Our Beumer Group sorter (BG Sorters) provides the user with exact and controlled sortation with maximum flexibility: tilt tray and cross-belt sorters can be used at the customer’s facilities.

“This sorter family provides the ideal option for any type of item. Our warehouse control system centrally connects and manages material flows – from quality assurance, goods and order picking to goods issue, always in accordance with the current rate requirements.

“At CeMAT Russia, we will present our innovative solutions to an interested audience in great detail. This trade show is one of the key events in Russia bringing together decision-makers from the logistics industry.”

Krister Sandvoss, global director for industry and logistics at Deutsche Messe, says: “This year’s CeMAT Russia is already the tenth edition of the exhibition, and it has by now become a fixture on the Russian trade fair market.

“Indeed, this is a market where companies have come to recognize the potential to be unlocked by optimizing their logistics processes. CeMAT Russia is the ideal place for logistics decision-makers to obtain information on cross-sector automated solutions.”

And the required technology often comes from Germany. With an export volume of €353.2 million in 2018, Germany came in ahead of China (€297 million) and Poland (€119.6 million), according to the VDMA Association for materials handling and intralogistics.

Many manufacturers are moreover localizing their production to Russia. In November 2017, the Hamburg-based warehouse technology manufacturer Jungheinrich began manufacturing shelving and storage equipment in the Russian district of Tver.

CeMAT Russia 2019 will be staged from 24 to 26 September in Moscow.

CeMAT Russia is produced by the Moscow-based OOO Deutsche Messe Rus, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Messe group of companies.
