South Korea-based Horyong boasts 28 years of know-how in the production of truck-mounted aerial lifts, used in construction and at other work sites.

To meet customer demand, and possess the competitive edge needed on the global market, the company almost exclusively uses SSAB’s Strenx performance steel in the special purpose vehicles manufactured.

Hahn Group acquires Austrian automated assembly company

Hahn Group is expanding in Austria with the acquisition of DFT Maschinenbau GmbH, a supplier of automated assembly and testing equipment.

Hahn Automation, a subsidiary of the Hahn Group, says the purchase will expand its expertise in the field of assembly and testing technology.

LG solar panels on show as part of ‘New American Remodel’ home

Advanced solar panels from LG were part of The New American Remodel (TNAR), the official show home of the 2019 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas in February.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) named LG Electronics USA official partner for the “net zero” TNAR home in the Nevada desert.

The New American Remodel exemplifies how even the most basic house can be transformed into a high-performance home when integrating today’s building practices that enhance energy efficiency, indoor-air quality, safety and universal design.

Latest ABB financial report shows strength of robotics division

ABB’s latest financial report shows the strength of the industrial giant’s robotics division, according to CEO Ulrich Spiesshofer. 

The company is reporting an increase in revenues of 4 percent, and puts it down to “strong growth in robotics and motion”.

Vision Factory receives UR+ software certification

Universal Robots (UR) has launched Robotic Vision Technologies Inc.’s (RVT) Vision Factory (VF) software suite for promotion on its UR+ certified third-party solutions catalogue.

This marks a major step in the adoption of Vision Factory into the collaborative robot ecosystem and the beginning of a Robot-as-a-Service model for the company.

The addition of Vision Factory to UR+’s catalogue brings 3D vision to a significant user base for the first time.

Samsung, Cisco and Orange demonstrate 5G-powered drone and industrial robot

Samsung Electronics, Cisco and Orange unveiled  two promising industrial 5G applications – a drone and an industrial robot, at the MWC19 in Barcelona, Spain, in the last week of February.

The 5G drone, carrying a very low latency, high-quality video system was piloted from the Orange booth at the Fira de Barcelona.

The drone, which was located outdoors at an Orange datacentre, carried a 5G router (CPE) that was used to transfer commands to the drone and transmit a high-quality video feed with low latency.
