Robots will take old jobs off humans and give them new ones, says World Economic Forum

September 17, 2018 by David Edwards

humans and robots

A new study by the World Economic Forum has found that robots might take millions of jobs off humans, but those jobs will be replaced with better-paying ones.

WEF conducted the detailed study in partnership with the Boston Consulting Group. Their findings strongly point to a future in which human workers will be increasingly retrained.

This type of activity – learning new skills – is already part of the current economic scenario as companies always look to compete, but robots will accelerate this trend.  [Read more…] about Robots will take old jobs off humans and give them new ones, says World Economic Forum

Digital side-view monitor to replace mirror on new Lexus car

September 17, 2018 by Anna

Lexus, from Toyota, has announced the introduction of the world’s first digital side-view monitors on the new ES. By installing small exterior cameras on the front doors, Lexus vehicles will provide its drivers with a clearer view of the vehicle’s surrounding area.

The cameras in the digital side-view monitors transmit the images onto 5-inch display monitors located inside the cabin at the base of the front pillars.

Another advantage the monitors have over their conventional counterparts is that they are shaped to resist the accumulation of raindrops and snow, leaving the driver’s view unaffected.
