Lincoln Electric to expand automation manufacturing capabilities

Lincoln Electric says it is planning to expand its automation manufacturing capabilities, with the enlargement of its facility at Wayne Trail, Ohio.

The Wayne Trail plant specialises in automated manufacturing solutions for metal forming, fabricating and metal joining processes.

Lincoln says the new investment “nearly doubles the facility’s size” to support larger-scale projects, future growth, and improved operational effectiveness. 

In partnership with JobsOhio, Lincoln Electric expects to create 50 additional full-time, advanced manufacturing positions to support the larger operation.

Lincoln Electric Automation will be hosting a private open house on November 28 to showcase the new facility and capabilities to the community and business partners.

Lincoln Electric specialises in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic arc welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment and has a leading global position in the brazing and soldering alloys market.

Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Lincoln has 63 manufacturing locations, including operations and joint ventures in 23 countries and a worldwide network of distributors and sales offices covering more than 160 countries.

Lincoln will also showcase its newest technology at FabTech 2017.

The company says it will exhibit the latest laser cutting and processing systems for automotive, appliance and other applications in South Hall booth A1851.

Among the cutting solutions on show will be the PythonX robotic plasma cutting systems for the structural industry; Vernon Tool pipe profiling systems; and Torchmate CNC plasma cutting tables and cutting power sources for plate steel cutting applications.
