Axiomtek launches industrial gateway that enables ‘faster’ connection to the cloud

Axiomtek, a provider of industrial internet of things technologies, has launched a new gateway that it claims enables devices to connect to the cloud faster.

Aiomtek says the ICO120-83D is an industrial IoT gateway designed to simplify device-cloud connection and accelerate industrial internet of things development.

It was specifically designed for smart energy and smart automation fields that need to collect and transfer data from large numbers of end devices.

Axiomtek’s brand new ICO120-83D is powered by the Intel Celeron processor N3350.

The embedded filed controller supports one DDR3L-1866 SO-DIMM slot with up to 8 GB of system memory.

It is equipped with one full-size PCI Express Mini Card slot, one half-size PCI Express Mini Card slot in support of mSATA, and one SIM socket to provide flexible extension capability.

The ICO120-83D measuring only 31 x 100 x 125 mm is well-suited for space-constrained deployments.

It offers an IP40 extruded aluminum and heavy-duty steel design for durable use.

This powerful industrial IoT gateway can withstand harsh operating conditions with an extended temperature range of -20°C to 70°C and vibration resistance up to 2G.

Additionally, the unit supports a wide voltage range of 12V to 24V DC power input with overvoltage and reverse protection.

Gordon Cho, a product manager of product division at Axiomtek, says: “The Axiomtek ICO120-83D is an ideal solution for entry-level industrial IoT gateway applications.

“The compact embedded gateway provides high reliability, flexibility and stability at an extremely friendly price.

“The IIoT applications such as smart factory, smart building, and smart energy are suitable to use the ICO120-83D as an industrial IoT gateway solution for complete connectivity to any edge device.”

The Intel Apollo Lake-based DIN-rail PC comes with one RS-232/422/485 port with an optional additional CANbus, two USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet (Intel i211AT controller with magnetic isolation protection 1.5KV), one mSATA, one DB15 VGA connector, and one 8-bit programmable female DIO connector.

Also, the system runs well with Windows 10 IoT and Linux operating systems.

It also offers Axiomtek’s exclusive AXView 2.0 software for smart device monitoring and remote management.
