Various advanced tools and techniques have been implemented by orthopedic surgeons over the past decade to improve patient outcomes.

These tools and techniques help them in improving patient outcomes and offer comfort to patients during treatment. The orthopedic surgery robots use the 3D imaging technology and computer navigation techniques to improve ability of surgeons to place implants with precise alignment.

Kuka opens new facility at headquarters

Kuka has inaugurated its prestigious new building at its Augsburg headquarters, which it calls the Development and Technology Center. 

The company celebrated the opening with about 200 guests from the worlds of business and politics.

SSL to provide robotic arms to Darpa for satellite servicing

Space Systems Loral (SSL), a provider of innovative satellites and spacecraft systems, has received $20.7 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) to design and build robotic arm flight hardware for the first phase of the agency’s Robotic Servicing of Geosynchronous Satellites (RSGS) program.

SSL is receiving the funds through MDA US Systems, a division of MDA managed by SSL, and is working with the US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), which is the prime contractor managing the program.

Robotiq and Varioptic announce the availability of the Robotiq Camera specifically designed for Universal Robots 

The new Robotiq Camera includes a CMOS sensor and a Caspian module from Varioptic.

It has the ability to focus from as close as 70 mm to infinity and comes with a software package for Universal Robots which allows the camera to be setup within minutes.

Partially automated cars provide enough benefits to warrant widespread adoption of current safety technologies, say boffins 

Carnegie Mellon College of Engineering researchers have concluded that the public could derive economic and social benefits today if safety-oriented, partially automated vehicle technologies were deployed in all cars. 

The researchers examined forward collision warning, lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring systems.

Baumer invests in a new development and logistics center

The sensor specialist Baumer is investing in its future with a new building in Stockach on Lake Constance, near to Constance, in southern Germany.

A new high-tech center for research and development and production is being built at the Stockach-Bodman-Ludwigshafen site, in addition to a central logistics center for Europe.
