Billion-dollar sporting goods retailer upgrades systems at distribution center with new automation technology
DecisionPoint Systems, a provider and integrator of enterprise mobility, wireless applications and IoT solutions, has been selected by Modell’s Sporting Goods to lead its distribution technology refresh initiative.
Modell’s will be implementing the latest Zebra Technologies’ mobile handheld, mobile printer devices, and wireless infrastructure in their distribution center, and selected DecisionPoint to oversee both deployment and maintenance services of this critical initiative.
David Strobelt, chief information and supply chain officer at Modell’s, says: “To keep up with the rapid growth of our omni-channel capabilities, we had to vastly improve our mobile technology in distribution.
“We recognized that it wasn’t enough to simply identify the technology best suited for our needs, we also needed trusted business partners with a proven track record of success. Together, we are going to deliver results to the business quickly.”
DecisionPoint Systems CEO Greg Henry says one of the key goals of its work with Modell’s is to increase their workforce productivity, while modernizing their operations.
“It’s important for an organization like Modell’s, as it is for most businesses, to increase the efficiency and accuracy of their operation while improving the performance of their workforce,” Henry said.
“Our goal is to provide Modell’s with a wireless infrastructure and mobile computing platform that is easy to learn and use as well as provides a strong foundation for new applications and future automation.
“We have been a Modell’s partner since 2010 and are honored that Modell’s appreciates the value we bring to their organization. We look forward to continuing and expanding our relationship with such an outstanding organization in the years to come.”
