Stanley Black & Decker is planning to open an advanced manufacturing training centre in downtown Hartford, Connecticut, near the north-eastern coast of the US.
The company says the “centre of excellence” to accelerate its global Industry 4.0 “smart factory” initiative.
Called “Manufactory 4.0” – after the original Stanley Bolt Manufactory founded in 1843 – the 23,000-square-foot center will be located at One Constitution Plaza and will employ approximately 50 Industry 4.0 professionals. Company claims Stanley Black & Decker set up its TaskMate system “in one day”
Ready Robotics’ ready-made automation system – which it says can be set up made operational within a day – is being utilised by Stanley Black & Decker.
Ready Robotics says the solution is “the first fully-integrated robotic system capable of being deployed in hours”.

The company, which claims to be the world’s largest tools and storage company, is increasingly integrating robotics and 3D printing into its manufacturing processes.
