Rethink Robotics has signed deals with nine distribution partners throughout the United States and Europe to extend the availability of its smart, collaborative robots.
With an extensive network throughout the world – including partners in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, China, Korea, Japan, Mexico and Australia – these distribution deals are part of Rethink’s efforts to meet growing demand across the globe, bringing flexible automation to the global manufacturing market.
Acorn Sales, a specialist in customized, handmade rubber stamps and embossing seals, says it has significantly shortened its supply chain by deploying Rethink Robotics’ Sawyer at its facility in Richmond, Virginia.
Family-owned and operated for over three generations, Acorn is a self-described “small business operating in an Amazon world”.
Rethink Robotics has launched what it describes as a first-of-its-kind software platform that connects everything in a smart factory.
The collaborative industrial robot maker says the extensible software is “redefining automation deployments and providing a gateway to the factory of the future”.
Rethink Robotics calls its software platform Intera 5, and says it “connects everything from a single robot controller, extending the smart, flexible power of Rethink Robotics’ Sawyer to the entire work cell and simplifying automation with unparalleled ease of deployment”.
Rethink Robotics, maker of the Baxter and Sawyer industrial robots, says it has raised new funds for global expansion and new product development
Rethink Robotics has raised $18 million in new funding as part of its Series E financing round.
The new round includes funding from leading asset manager and private equity investment firm, Adveq, as well as contributions from all previous investors, including Bezos Expeditions, CRV, Highland Capital Partners, Sigma Partners, DFJ, Two Sigma Ventures, GE Ventures and Goldman Sachs.
Hunan Cothink will distribute Sawyer and Baxter robots throughout the country
Rethink Robotics has reached an exclusive agreement with collaborative robotics provider Hunan Cothink Robotics Technology Company to distribute its robots to the entire Chinese manufacturing community.
Rethink Robotics and Hunan Cothink originally announced a partnership in February of this year that awarded Hunan Cothink distribution rights in northern and southern China, but the success of the relationship and the demand for Rethink Robotics’ smart, collaborative robots has led to a new, exclusive deal that covers the entire Chinese geography.
Five Sawyer robots power flexible production in smart metering, power distribution and energy management
Wasion Group, a provider of integrated solutions in smart metering, smart power distribution and energy management in China and international markets, has deployed Rethink Robotics’ Sawyer industrial robot on its assembly line for manufacturing single-phase energy meters.
Wasion is moving forward with smart manufacturing initiatives by leveraging smart, collaborative Sawyer robots that are easy to deploy and can meet the precision specifications for the companies’ factories.
Rethink Robotics has reached a deal with a South Korean pneumatic equipment manufacturer and distributor.
TPC Mechatronics will utilise Sawyer collaborative robots from Rethink Robotics in its own facility, as well as the facilities of its customers, in “an effort to move the entire industry toward smarter factories”, according to the companies.
Rethink Robotics says it has reached partnership agreements with 10 separate companies in seven different countries in the past eight months.
Rethink, which makes collaborative robots it gives human names like “Baxter” and “Sawyer”, recently arranged inaugural global channel partner summit in Boston which was attended by more than 30 of its partner companies.
Sawyer robots to demonstrate three different manufacturing tasks on the show floor
Rethink Robotics will showcase its high performance Sawyer robot at Hannover Messe 2016, providing the international audience an opportunity to see how smart, collaborative robots are changing the game in the global manufacturing marketplace.
Two-armed collaborative robot making light work of difficult injection moulding tasks
A US manufacturer says its use of the Baxter industrial robot “simplifies complexity” in its factory operations.
Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, a company which specializes in short-run injection molding of thermoplastics for industrial original equipment manufacturers, is using Rethink Robotics’ two-armed Baxter robot for flexible automation at its facility in Alexandria, Minnesota.
