Pepperl+Fuchs has launched a device for the precise detection of the position of actuators.
PMI F90 inductive positioning system can “precisely detect the absolute position of one actuator as well as the distance between two”, says Pepperl+Fuchs.
The company says the system has “comprehensive communication functionality and is equipped for Industry 4.0 applications”, through IO-Link technology.

Pepperl+Fuchs has launches new Ethernet IO modules with multiprotocol functionality and M12 power plugs which are now also with integrated eight-way IO-link master.
The new Ethernet IO modules support all common Ethernet protocols, such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT, in a single device.
The integrated IO-Link master function allows comprehensive diagnosis and parameterization.
The L-coded M12 power plug provides a current of up to 16 A and reduces installation costs.
Modules with an integrated logic function can tackle autonomous applications, completely replace control panels, or deal only with status messages.

The new BlueBeam technology for incremental rotary encoders with optical sensing principle increases efficiency when generating signals, says the company.
Specially developed blue emitter LEDs, combined with modern and more finely structured sensing chips, allow a more energetic penetration depth of the blue light in the chip.

The new engineering center will design, build and certify custom equipment on site in days
Pepperl+Fuchs, a provider of process automation and applications, is building a 110,000-square-foot facility in Katy, Texas, in the West Ten Business Park near Houston.
The new facility, which will replace an existing 20,000-square-foot space, will house an expanded Solutions Engineering Center, a customer training area, warehouse space and distribution facilities.
A quickly expanding service from Pepperl+Fuchs, the Solutions Engineering Center is staffed with a team of engineers, who design, build and certify customized solutions on site for process automation in hazardous locations, such as oil refineries, pharmaceutical facilities and other manufacturing facilities.
