It’s a small word. Bosch. Associated with so many things, most famously “bish bash bosch”. A meaningless phrase really, but according to the Urban Dictionary, it’s “used to describe the efficiency of a process you have just explained, often used if there are three steps to the process”.
Car giant completes tests of autonomous logistics robot at its Ingolstadt plant
German automaker Audi is to increase the productivity of robots working within its logistics operations.
The company has been conducting tests involving autonomous robots it calls “Ray” for more than a year.

Dutch government organising DAF technology demonstration to put fleets of autonomous trucks on European roads
A consortium of DAF Trucks, TNO, NXP and Ricardo is working together under the name EcoTwin to participate in the European Truck Platooning Challenge being organised by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment on April 6.
Company says new Otto 100 provides light-load material transport for today’s modern factories and warehouses
Clearpath Robotics has expanded its Otto line of self-driving vehicles with Otto 100. The vehicle is designed for autonomous light-load material transport in factories and warehouses.
“The Otto 100 takes the high quality and reliability of the Otto 1500 and puts those advanced capabilities into a smaller form factor,” said Matt Rendall, chief executive officer at Clearpath. “This enables new self-driving services in distribution, e-commerce, and manufacturing.”
Nissan is planning to integrate the Qashqai with autonomous features by next year, making the “crossover” model the first of its cars in Europe to feature its new self-driving technology.
After a decade of what the car maker calls “unprecedented customer demand”, Nissan says it intends to increase Qashqai capacity and further strengthen its position as what the company claims is the “best-selling crossover in Europe”.
Nissan says it “still cannot keep pace with the continued growth of the crossover market” it claims to have created with Qashqai, despite record volumes of 300,000 cars every year on Line 1 at the company’s UK Sunderland Plant, round-the-clock production and a build rate of one car every minute. Washington, DC’s District Department of Transportation (DDoT) has selected TransCore to develop and integrate an advanced software solution that enables District traffic management personnel to more effectively manage congestion, roadway incidents, and special events.

These activities can change traffic flow in an instant and for long periods of time. The rail travel network in Norway has taken its very own “great leap forward” in technological terms with the introduction of new automation software.
The Norwegian National Rail Administration (NNRA, also known as Jernbaneverket) decided to perform a major upgrade to its infrastructure in order to modernize rail service delivery and optimize maintenance and performance.

Product innovation has always been top priority for car manufacturers, which is why they are among the top spenders in research and development. The question now is whether this is enough. Product innovation is taking place at such speed that a unique innovation today can easily be copied and manufactured by a rival firm tomorrow.

German industrial conglomerate Siemens has won contracts to construct some of the world’s largest intelligent transport projects which will feature autonomous vehicles and connected infrastructure
A 1,300-kilometer corridor between Rotterdam and Vienna in which vehicles and infrastructures communicate with one another; driverless subway trains in Paris, Budapest, and Riyadh; an autonomously-operating public transportation systems in Ulm, Germany – these are examples of how mobility will be networked and increasingly characterized by autonomous systems – developments that Siemens is deeply involved in.
With six lines and a total route length of 175 kilometers, Riyadh is planning the world’s largest subway project. Siemens is to supply the entire turnkey system for two driverless metro lines in the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The five-million city is looking for sustainable solutions for its local traffic problems. Because Riyadh is growing rapidly: since 1990, the population has doubled to more than five million inhabitants. Siemens equips Lines 1 and 2 of the six lines with Inspiro metro trains, the electrification and the signaling and communication systems for driverless operation.
