Kuka forms ‘strategic partnership’ with Schüco

Industrial robotics and automation company Kuka has signed what it describes as a “strategic partnership” with Schüco.

The goal of the exclusive cooperation is the joint development and implementation of automation solutions for tomorrow’s production of windows, doors, and façades.

In the initial phase, the main focus of development is the production of aluminum windows and doors.

Schüco International based in Bielefeld, Germany – the world’s leading supplier of high-quality window, door and façade systems made from aluminum, plastic and steel.

Kuka and Schüco aim for long-term collaboration with a focus on the joint development and implementation of automation solutions for tomorrow’s production of windows, doors and façades.

Michael Otto, chief regional officer for Germany, who signed the agreement as the Kuka representative, says: “We are really pleased that Schüco chose Kuka as its strategic partner.

“We see great potential for robotics and automation in the building sector in general.”

Dr Walter Stadlbauer, CTO and COO of Schüco, says: “The partnership between Schüco and Kuka allows two market leaders to bundle their expertise.

“Our objective here is clear: to further increase our customers’ competitiveness by means of automation.”

Both companies mutually benefit from each other’s know-how. Kuka brings great experience in the field of robotics and automation to the partnership.

Schüco provides a broad spectrum of products and services relating to the building envelope and has extensive knowledge of all the phases of the building process.

As part of the collaboration, Schüco has access to Kuka’s global network of integrators. Kuka will both have access to Schüco’s global sales network and be the exclusive robot supplier of the Bielefeld-based company.
