Nortek Security & Control says it has passed the shipment of their 1 millionth Z-Wave smart home device under its GoControl brand.

Nrotek is a provider of smart home technologies with a wide range of products for lighting, control and security.

Nortek says its GoControl products are consistently listed as best sellers on Amazon.com and are also the products of choice by many security dealers.

Nortek Security & Control has over 3 million security and home control systems installed, making it “the clear category leader”, according to its own statement.

GoControl products enhance many of the company’s branded 2GIG installations, delivering the convenience of IoT devices to the mass market, offering solutions that are affordable, easy to install and use.

GoControl’s 1 million devices together with 2GIG’s 3 million security and automation controls make Nortek Security & Control does seem to give it a good amount of power in the market.

According to Parks Associates, over 55 percent of installed smart door locks and garage door controls, smart smoke detectors and water leak sensors, and networked security cameras are integrated into a security system.

Tom Kerber, director of IoT strategy, Parks Associates, says: “The security channel remains the leading channel for smart home services and related products.

“Nortek Security & Control’s leadership in the smart home and security channel extends beyond the 2GIG controller and includes a wide variety of accessories.”
