2016 marks the third year Belt Technologies has attended the Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo.

The event, also referred to as “M-Tech”, is held annually each June at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan and is one of the world’s largest exhibitions of mechanical and processing technology.

Alan Wosky, president of Belt Technologies, says: “M-Tech has been a great experience each year that we’ve attended.

“This year we were happy to present a demonstration of our stainless steel belt technology as it applies to the robotics industry, which has promising potential for industries such as semiconductor assembly and clean room environments.”

This year’s expo drew over 87,000 visitors seeking new technologies and mechanical solutions. Attendees came from a diverse range of industries, including solar, automotive, printing, food processing, and medicine.

Visitors were highly receptive to the Belt Technologies booth, where they were presented a demonstration of stainless steel belt technology operating in a working robotic arm. Stainless steel belt technology could improve robotic arms, namely those used in the automated assembly lines of the semiconductor industry and those used in clean room environments.

Belt Technologies also showcased an attachment conveyor belt to highlight the repeatability (0.05 to 0.127 mm) of steel belts, which makes them ideal for the pick-and-place conveyor lines that drive automation production lines.

The company also provided their design guide and website, both of which are now available in Japanese.
